There are already many object-oriented finite element programs implemented so far. The followings are those known to us. Listing or no-listing does not imply endorsement or non-endorsement from VectorSpace Programming.

  1. FEACPP.
  2. OOFElie.
  3. OFELI.
  4. Diffpack.
  5. FEM_Object.
  6. ZeBuLoN.
  7. CM2.
  8. FEMOOP.
  9. FE++.
  10. BUB++.
  11. TPROTEUS.
  12. VfeTools
    (in DevTools component libraries).
  13. Kaskade
    (listed in MGNet).
  14. FEM2DLIB
    (Fortran 90).
  15. NAG Fastflo
    (special purpose language--Fasttalk).
  16. FreeFEM
    (special purpose language--Gfem)
  17. Object-Oriented Finite Element Analysis
    (Ph.D. thesis, 1996; Univ. of California at Berkeley).
  18. Object-Oriented Finite Element Programming
    (Ph.D. thesis, 1997; Univ. of California at Berkeley).
  19. ObjectFEM
    (Ph.D. thesis; Univ. of Aalborg, Denmark).
  20. FEMLIB
    (MS & Ph.D thesis; Univ. of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign).
  21. SOFER
    (on-going project; Univ. of Wales, Swansea, UK).
  22. FEM-OO-C++
    (Univ. of Colorado at Boulder)
  23. fe.lib.
    (this)

vs.lib can be used in all of the above finite element programs as a rapid-proto-typing tool in developing new elements. vs.lib is completely independent of fe.lib. In such a case, fe.lib is used as an example to demonstrate how vs.lib can be used in finite element programming.

Please recommand other object-oriented finite element programs for listing to webmaster@vector-space.com .
