FEMAP/Demo (free under 300-nodes limit) from Enterprise Software Products (downloads of programs and documents available at http://www.entsoft.com/downloads.html) is a powerful, industrial leading finite element pre-and-post processor. The following images and animations are constructed with the help of FEMAP and numerically anlayized with C++ programs using fe.lib. The "neutral file format" of FEMAP is used to transfer data to C++ program using fe.lib, then back to FEMAP for post-processing. (Click here for C++ codes, for the following examples, interfacing FEMAP and C++ programs using fe.lib.) 1. A 3-D Simple Solid (Ref. see FEMAP Examples Book Chapter 8 Simple Solid.)
2. Stripe with a hole Contours of yield ratio (Elastoplasticity with (A) infinitesimal deformation formulation, and (B) finite deformation formulation; only 1/4 of the model is analized due to symmetry.) (A) Infinitesimal
elastoplastic deformation formulation
(0-0.555% streching, Ref. see VSP's Online Workbook Chapter 5 Advanced Finite
Element Methods on Section Elastoplasticity.) (B) Finite
elastoplastic deformation formulation (up to 1/3
stretching, Ref. see VSP's Online Workbook Chapter 5 Advanced Finite Element Methods
on Section Finite Deformation Elastoplasticity.) 3. Contact Problem: a frictionless rigid sled on elastic foundation (Ref. see VSP's Online Workbook: Chapter 5 Advanced Finite Element Methods on Section Contact Mechanics)
